I’m resharing another amazing wedding that I previously lost when I had to shut my site down, this time Charlie and Ish’s absolutely amazing day in Central London.
I normally cover weddings in the South West and while I’ve crept as close as Surrey before, I’ve never photographed a wedding right in the centre of London and it was a completely brilliant experience! I actually lived and worked in London for two years so it was really poignant to return for work here as a ‘visitor’ after so many years on such a special day of celebration.
We started the day a stones throw from London Bridge, with the excitement of the wedding morning and everyone getting ready, and then went on to the incredible ceremony venue, The Asylum Chapel. I think to date this might still be my favourite ceremony location yet, I love rustic and interesting spaces, and the colours and texture inside the venue were just gorgeous. After the ceremony, we went right into the City to take bride and groom photos (FYI, there is something very cool about a bride casually walking through crowded streets of London). Meanwhile the rest of the guests got to travel in a personalised red double decker London bus to the reception venue, Tanner Warehouse. Again, a unique and beautiful venue which the couple made their own with unique details.
There are many reasons this is one of my favourite weddings, not least that I first met Charlie when I was still at University, as she was a close friend of a housemate of mine, and there’s something extra special about photographing the wedding of someone you know. I also love the series of photos below where Charlie threw her bouquet…such a cute moment between friends!
As always, I’m so grateful for the privilege of capturing a couples wedding day, and really hope people enjoy looking through these photos as much as I still do!
