I have another little photoshoot to share of my (long suffering) youngest. I couldn’t *not* share these pics, they’re just so dreamy. So, I may have bought her a fairy outfit for her birthday under the (undiscussed) caveat, that she would be dragged into woodland locations for the forseeable future with me and my camera following her every move. Bah ha haa!
I’m beyond lucky to live a short drive of the magical Matara Centre, where I’ve been fortunate to hold minishoots in the past (and hopefully will again in the future!) and photographed a stunning wedding there many moons ago (and again, hope to again soon!). I booked in a little visit to the gardens and off we went, there was nobody else around and we just explored the exquisite gardens and parklands, it’s the time of year where all the flowers we in bloom, the bees and butterflies – and dragonflies! – buzzing everywhere, a sort of peaceful-yet-busy energy that the Summer season naturally brings. My daughter was insistent that a butterfly was going to land on her, so tried holding her hands out very still for a few moments, but when that didn’t work she began chasing them! Oh to be four again!
We wanted to stay longer and explore more, there is so much to see and every time we visit the gardens have changed a little bit more or evolved into the next season. Every time of year is stunning there. Hopefully we can go back on an autumnal afternoon when the sun is lower and capture som lovely golden hour photos in this cute outfit too! If you like the idea of a family photoshoot outdoors I’d love to hear from you, and if the sound of minishoots at Matara (or similar) sounds good, please drop me an email or sign up to my newsletter so I can keep you updated as to when I’m running my next sessions!
