No posing, a little gentle encouragement and direction, but mostly observation, conversation and the occasional sound of a shutter. Natural smiles, meaningful interactions and otherwise unseen moments. These are the core elements of documentary style photoshoots. If the thought of saying ‘cheese’ through gritted teeth into a camera makes you cringe then we will definitely get along! I prefer to capture real connections. Sometimes this means suggesting interactions and conversations. Sometimes it means simply standing back and observing, only taking photos when the magical moments appear (which they always do when given the space!).
"When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice."
~ Robert Frank
Let’s work together…
As a lifestyle photographer I combine documentary photography with occasional creative direction to capture a combination of candid and ‘styled’ images, telling the story of your family, event or business in a way that will still feel incredibly authentic.
